FAQ

How does your process work?

After we have chatted a bit about what you are looking for, I will send you a contract and collect a deposit. At that time, I will put together some sketches, inspiration photos, and fabrics for you to approve. We will meet online or in person to get your measurements and finalize design. I will then create a mockup, or rough draft, of your costume to fit. We will again meet online or in person to fit that mockup. I will then finish up your costume and deliver it to you.

Can you really do this remotely?

Yes. While in person is always better, I use all the math at my disposal to create a pattern just for you from your measurements. With the help of the mockup, most fit issues can easily be resolved and I will work with you until it is just right.

Can you copy xyz from a famous ballet company?

Nope. My best work is done when clients give me free reign with a little guidance on color and personal preferences. While I will look at any inspiration pictures you may have, I would not enjoy making a copy of someone else's work.

Will you alter this tutu from another maker?

I don't even do alterations for my own family. Seriously - I just do not enjoy it at all. If you have bought a tutu from someone else, please contact them to fix it.

Why are these tutus so expensive?

A typical tutu usually has about $150+ in materials (net, boning, lace, liners, silks, thread, etc) and takes upwards of 40 hours to make. I want every piece to be special and I also need to keep my machines working and the lights on.

Will you travel to do fittings?

Yes. If you would like to pay my transportation and hotel, I will travel to you to do fittings.
